Update September 2024

Nikki Saveker News

The 2023-2024 term has been a great one. With a new Exec team in place, we have been striving to build on the solid foundations that is 9th Warwick, and although there were some stormy seas at the start of the Scouting year, we have sailed the storm and come out on top.

Its an amazing opportunity to look back at what we’ve achieved over the last year and we are so proud of what we have coming up in the year 24/25 for our Young People.

After the sad previous disbandment of the Scouts in Summer 2023, our Scout group consisted only of “moving on” Cubs and has remained small over the year. We thank Mark for becoming temporary leader and keeping the group going! In July 2024, we have taken on a new Scout Leader – Roger, and Gemma our Treasurer will be helping as an assistant along with Mark our Quartermaster. Roger has been busy over the summer recruiting new Scouts to the group, and the group has grown to a nice little Patrol of 12! There is also a great programme planned, we are all really excited.

During the year, the Cubs have flourished. Annie has now stepped down as leader, but not before we were able to train up our new leader – Elliott, who will be taking over from September 2024.

Beavers and Squirrels have had the expert guidance of Leanne and her team. Leanne has also won an award as a volunteer Scout Leader this year! Congratulations! Leanne continues to create jam packed programmes covering all the badge requirements and the kids adore her!

Our Exec team is striving to get into better practice of regular meeting updates, event planning and getting in more camps. This years first camp will be in October 2024.

We look forward to a new term with our new leaders and members.
