Following confirmation from Scouts, we’re returning to face-to-face sessions from Wednesday 2 December.
Returning to face-to-face Scouting in December
Following the imposition of national restrictions by the Government back at the beginning of November, Scouts announced – in conjunction with the National Youth Agency – that there would be a suspension of all face-to-face activities during the four week period. Our activities will be resuming at the end of the four week period, which is scheduled to end at 00:01 on Wednesday 2 December.
Having put all preparations in place to return to sessions starting with our regularly scheduled Cubs meeting on Wednesday 2 December, along with preparing a Zoom session just in case we were unable to meet, we’re pleased to confirm that we will be resuming our activities starting with Cubs at 6:30pm on Wednesday. Please ensure that you keep a close eye on the Parents’ WhatsApp groups for any last minute changes to our programme.
With Warwick having recently placed into Tier 3, we know that some of our members and their families may have worries or concerns over returning to face-to-face activities. However, prior to the second national lockdown, NYA confirmed that all three tiers in England would still map to their Amber guidance, and this stance has not changed as we return to the tiered system.
We assure you that we’re doing everything we can to ensure that our activities are being run in a COVID-secure manner in line with the Scouts COVID Code, and while we hope that all our young people will return to our meetings, it is entirely up to families to decide whether or not you wish your young people to return.
As ever, thank you for your continued support. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
